As a second year instructor for Current Adventures, 28 year old Leah is drawn to kayaking because when she is kayaking, she is in the here and now. Her mind is focused and in the present, not the past, not the future. Having had her first river experience on the Kern when she was 13 years ago, she calls that river, on which she later learned to paddle, her favorite. As a current resident of San Francisco, Leah attends the San Francisco Art Institute and is finishing her degree in fine arts, specializing in painting. Some of her artwrok can be seen on her website.   Her winters are spent studying, snowboarding, mountain biking and painting.
