Paul, a paddler for 27 years, especially enjoys fishing from his kayak. He floats Sierra lakes, casts a line and hopes to catch the big one. Ask him about the one that got away. Though he ventures east to the mountains and loves the chilly waters of Alaska, he feels most at home on the lower American River, which he began exploring 27 years ago at the beginning of his kayaking career. He leads Calm Water EcoTours on that stretch of river for Current Adventures. Also, he teaches young paddlers the ins and outs and joys of the sport in Current Adventures' Kids' Classes. Kids never fail to leave Paul's classes without having spent much time smiling.
